Sfoof A Delicious Arabic Dessert
This recipe reminds me of cold winters back in Amman. A delicious, kind of light dessert that goes perfectly with a cup of warm tea.
1.5 cups whole wheat flour
1.5 cups fine semolina flour
1/2 cup maple syrup or agave
1 cup plant based milk (I used almond here)
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp anise seeds
1 tsp baking powder
1/4-1/2 melted ghee
Preheat the oven at 180C. Mix the dry ingredients first then add in the wet ingredients. Mix well. Grease the baking tray with a layer of tahini (it'll make it extra delicious and will give it a great colour). Pop it in the oven for 30-45 minutes or until it's golden from top.
Top with pistachios and serve with tea!
